Volcom L INS GORE-TEX JACKET - 2027

The Volcom L Insulated GORE-TEX Jacket takes everything we like about the regular L GORE-TEX and adds some warmth for those days when Vail actually feels like winter.

You still get the proven weather protection of a recycled 2-layer GORE-TEX shell with fully taped seams, but Volcom adds 80g of low-loft insulation through the body and 60g through the sleeves. It's enough to take the edge off cold chairlift rides without turning the jacket into a giant puffy.

The relaxed snowboard fit leaves room to move and layer underneath, while mesh-lined vents let you dump heat when you're working harder or the temperature starts climbing. Volcom's Zip Tech® system connects the jacket to compatible Volcom pants, and the stretch powder skirt gives you another line of defense when the snow gets deep.

Add in an adjustable hood, AquaGuard® zipper, pass pocket, goggle pocket, handwarmer pockets and adjustable cuffs and you've got a jacket that's pretty damn easy to live in all winter.

Buzz's Take: If you run cold or just don't want to mess around with a bunch of layers every morning, we'd take the L Insulated over the regular L. You get the same GORE-TEX protection with enough insulation to make those cold first-chair mornings a whole lot better. Simple, warm, waterproof and built to snowboard.
