The Volcom Avalon Puff Jacket brings serious warmth to the mountain without looking like your typical technical snowboard jacket. It's got that oversized puffy look, a shorter relaxed fit, and enough insulation for the days when winter actually shows up.

Underneath the puffy styling is a legit 10K/10K V-Science 2-layer shell with a PFAS-free DWR treatment to handle snow and weather. Volcom packs it with 400g of recycled insulation through the body and 300g through the sleeves, making this one of the warmer options in the women's lineup.

Mesh-lined vents give you somewhere to dump heat when you're riding, while Lycra hand gaiters, adjustable cuffs and a hidden cinch hood help seal things up when it's cold and blowing. Brushed tricot-lined handwarmer pockets are a nice addition when you're standing around waiting for the rest of the crew to get ready.

Buzz's Take: If you're always cold, the Avalon is your friend. This thing brings some serious insulation but still looks like a snowboard jacket instead of a giant winter coat. Warm, puffy and different from everything else on the hill—perfect for those cold Vail mornings when looking good doesn't mean you should have to freeze.
